In an entertaining match at Wankulukuku, the Startimes Uganda Premier League clash between SC Villa and Vipers SC ended in a goalless draw on matchday 23. Both teams gave their all but couldn’t capitalize on the chances created.

The game started with both sides pushing forward for an early lead. Umar Lutalo made a promising shot early on, but it was saved by the Vipers SC goalkeeper. However, the game heated up with yellow cards being issued, including one to Garvin for a foul on Mukundane.

Despite numerous attempts from both teams, the first half ended with SC Villa unable to break the deadlock.

After the break, Arnold Odong had got injured, leading to Diego Semugera coming on as a substitute for SC Villa. The Jogoos returned with renewed intent, launching random attacks to find the winning goal.

As the clock ticked, SC Villa continued to press for a goal, but Vipers SC’s defense held firm. Despite substitutions and efforts from players like Kakande and Kyeyune, SC Villa couldn’t find the breakthrough.

At full time, both teams had to settle for a draw. SC Villa’s Jeans Braddy Wokorach expressed his thoughts on the result, saying,

“We came for a win today but it didn’t go our way. We take the point and head back to the drawing board in preparation for the games ahead. I thank my teammates for giving their all and the fans for supporting us throughout the game.”

With the point gained, SC Villa moves to 41 points in the league, maintaining the fourth position, just three points behind the table leaders. They now prepare to face Soltilo Bright Stars at Wankulukuku on April 21st, 2024.
