We say goodbye to Gift Fred, who played an important role in the SC Villa team. Gift led us to a commendable third-place finish in the previous Uganda Premier League season, where we were almost champions but lost to URA 1-0 in the last game at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku. This loss allowed Vipers to win the championship.
Gift became a free agent when his contract ended last month and has now joined Tanzanian champions, Young Africans.
In a heartfelt message to his teammates and the club, Gift expressed his emotions and described SC Villa as a wonderful family. He was grateful for their positive working relationship.
Gift’s impact was immense, and he was a solid defender on the field. His outstanding performances earned him a place in the Uganda Premier League team of the 2022/2023 season. He was also nominated for the best defender of the season at the SUPL awards, which is a testament to his remarkable abilities.
