In an action-packed encounter, the Jogoos and Bright Stars battled to a 1-1 draw at Kavumba in Match day 10 of the Startimes Uganda Premier League. The first half saw a flurry of events, starting with a missed opportunity for Hakim from Lutalo’s cross. A penalty awarded to Bright Stars in the 20th minute saw Nelson Senkatuuka convert, giving the visitors the lead.

However, the Jogoos responded impressively before halftime, with a stunning goal from Bogere off a Kenneth Semakula cross, leveling the score.

The second half witnessed a substitution with Elvis Ngonde replacing the injured Lutalo at the 61st minute. Despite several chances, including a near miss from Bogere, neither side could break the deadlock.

In the 65th minute, the Jogoos made a triple substitution, introducing Kafumbe, Kiwanuka Rogers, and Charles Lwanga. Despite Kiwanuka Rogers finding the net later, his goal was ruled offside in the 77th minute.

As the final whistle blew, both teams had to settle for a hard-fought draw, each earning a point in an evenly contested match at Kavumba.

“I’m delighted to have opened my goal account this season. I want to express my gratitude to the team for delivering a commendable performance, securing a point away from home. While it wasn’t the outcome we had hoped for, I believe luck wasn’t in our favor to claim all three points. Now, we turn our attention to rectifying our mistakes as we prepare for an upcoming derby at Wankulukuku.” – Ivan Bogere

Next up for the Jogoos will be the Derby as they visit Express FC this Friday 8th December at Muteesa II stadium Wankulukuku.
