The Jogoos Lose in the Kampala Derby

In a tense clash at Wankulukuku, SC Villa hosted KCCA FC in match day 12 of the star times Uganda Premier league. Both teams battled fiercely from the start but The first 10 minutes saw the Jogoos in possession.

KCCA capitalized at the 14th minute, securing a lead through Katenga Etienne and in Five minutes later Arafat Usama added another for the away side. The Jogoos then needed response as soon as possible.

Hope flickered at the 32nd minute when ‘Neymar’ Charles Lwanga pulled one back for the Jogoos through a header off Bogere’s corner kick. Despite a missed chance by Hakim Kiwanuka at the 34th minute, the Jogoos were determined to level the score before halftime.

Strategic changes during after recess saw Kyeyune Abas and Kafumbe joining the Jogoos. The second half witnessed a spirited Jogoos’ attack, but clear chances remained elusive.

Substitutions in the 65th minute brought on Elvis Ngonde and Peter Onzima. In the 78th minute, Kyeyune’s header was denied by KCCA’s goalkeeper, sealing the Jogoos’ fate.

The final whistle confirmed defeat for the Jogoos in the Derby.

“Despite not achieving the desired outcome, our opponents capitalized on their chances. Although we responded with a goal, the equalizer or a winning score eluded us. Heading back to the training camp to address our mistakes, we aim to return stronger in the next fixture.” – Midfielder Elvis Ngonde.

Next up for the Jogoos will be after the festive season on 30th December where they will be traveling away to Wakiso Giants fc.
