SC Villa look focus on progressing to the next round in cup

SC Villa is set to host Masaka City regional side Synergy FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32. The Jogoos secured their spot in this round with an impressive 4-0 victory over SC Tawai in the round of 64.

Eager to maintain their winning momentum in the tournament, SC Villa faces a new challenge as they encounter Synergy FC for the first time. Synergy FC, having eliminated Mbarara City FC in the previous round, poses a formidable opposition.

However, SC Villa will be without players such as Defender Cyrus Kibande, midfielders Patrick Jonah Kakande, Umar Lutalo, Abas Kyeyune, and Hakim Mutebi, who are away on international duty with the Under 20s. Additionally, goalkeeper Norman Angufindru is sidelined due to injury.

Despite the absences, budding goalkeeper Jeans Braddy Wokorach emphasized the team’s preparedness and respect for their opponents in a pre-match interview.

He said, “We’ve not played with Synergy FC so far, and that means we will not be taking any chances. We are not undermining them because we know what such teams are capable of doing. We will go into the game with all the tactics given to us by the coaches, looking at just one thing – winning! We are only waiting to step on the green tomorrow.”

The match is scheduled to kick off at 4 pm and will be broadcast live on Fufa TV. Entrance fees remain at 10,000 UGX for ordinary tickets and 50,000 UGX for VIP access.
